The genre of this film is Drama/Mystery. The opening scene starts out with a drone ariel shot moving over a lake and to a town. There is also a voice over of the main character talking about how everyone in life gets on miracle. There is a long shot of a house with people walking in and out and a van pulling up beside it. The voice over continues as a girl gets out of the van with a close up slow motion and we learn the voice is coming from the boy who lives next door. He describes that his miracle came when this girl moved in next door to him. This is how we know the scene is actually a flashback. A mid shot shows him standing in his driveway staring at the girl as the camera slowly zooms in to his face. Once it gets close enough the screen goes black but his voice over still says a few words. In the very beginning of the movie text appears and says that this is a Temple Hill Production but no other job titles or actors appear for the rest of the intro. The films budget was 12 million dollars and worldwide the film made 85.5 million dollars. In 2015, The film won three different Teen Choice Awards and one Cinemacon Rising Star of the Year Award.
