Film Genre Research- Gone Girl

The genre of Gone Girl is Mystery/Drama. The opening scene starts out with a fade-in to a close up picture of a women and someone stroking her hair. There is then a voice over of the man speaking about his wife which then leads to a fade out to black. There is then long shots of multiple buildings mixed in with some pans of the area. The scene then cuts to man standing in front of his house from many different long shot perspectives. He then turns around and the long shot pans him walking back to his house. Eerie incidental music is playing throughput the whole opening to give off a creepy tone. Actors names flash fade in and out of the scene every few seconds and then later in the scene job titles start to appear. A few mentioned were the casting, sound designer, music, costume designer, film editor, production designer and producers. The entire films budget was 61 million dollars and ended up making over 369 million dollars. This film has won an Empire Award, a Critics Choice, and a Peoples Choice award.
