Distribution Research- The Edge of Seventeen

"The Edge of Seventeen" is a drama/comedy film released in 2016. This movie and my movie have a very similar target audience of teens since they both include teens as their main characters. They both include humor that teens will enjoy even though "The Edge of Seventeen" has more elevated and adult language. Two trailers were released beforehand to attract the attention of the target audience. The main characters in the movie such as Hailee Steinfeld posted links to the trailers on her social media to make sure people knew about the movie and when it was coming out. This movie was released on November 18, 2016. The DVD version of the movie was then released February 14, 2017. The film was distributed by STX Entertainment which is a leading and fast-growing entertainment company. Soon after its release, the film became available on Netflix, Prime Video, and VUMU which are all popular streaming services.
